Singer and songwriter RedLand Collectif has released his latest single All About Loving You, a heartfelt and emotional soundscape that pushes all the right buttons in terms of reaching out to those with dedicated, loving and reliable relationships.

All About Loving You  is a quickly memorable song that the artist has clearly taken their time with when crafting it. The whole thing builds up slowly and surely, beginning with the simple sound of the two voices and a wash of unexpected strings. The style is immediately both familiar and unusual. This classical backdrop – arranged in an unpredictable manner, moving from the smooth, longer notes, to the quick and dramatic – the soundscape included, it’s all quite fascinating and musically beautiful. In addition though, the song has a classic, comforting pop or folk aura to it – the lyrics and the melody, even the male vocal at the forefront of the sound – all of this seems to fall in line with the vibe of a classic song. Good writing, from a place of genuine emotion and depth, fused with an uncommon musicality, makes this an interesting and – as stated – quickly memorable, recognizable single.

There’s a simple progression to this song, it’s minimalist in nature – the lines are short, the rhythm of the vocal hook weaves a hypnotic web within the soundscape, and so the latter moments – the added vocals, the guitar solo meandering in the backdrop – work well to create an easy to escape among piece of music. It actually feels a lot warmer and more hopeful or optimistic towards the end.

The more you witness it, the more you notice the progression or evolution throughout. The production is really impressive, what begins as a totally joyful pop song becomes something much edgier – notably paying tribute to the likes of No Doubt and other freely creative, pop-country crossover artists. The soundscape grows more intense, heavier, and always the rhythm of the leading voice ties in perfectly with that which surrounds and supports it. In addition, the lines seem well chosen – painting a clear and quite captivating string of ideas. I was reminded briefly of the Blur hit of a similar nature, from way back when, but stylistically this is something else entirely.

This progression from sadness to possibility is cleverly captured. The song deals with heartache and turmoil, but it ends on a high – something we need much more of in times like this. There is hope, things do get better, and the more people speak about it the more we start to understand each other and connect and move forwards.
