Lose My Mind
Dj Redness offers a laid back approach to modern house music, fusing rap and melody in a carefree way that suits the simple echo and loop of the musical backdrop pretty well. You get a fairly good idea of what to expect from the artist from this single release, for the most part though it seems to fit quite simply among the bulk of mainstream house music releases of late.
Production wise you get a recognizable vibe from the track, those chiming synths appear soaked in reverb and create a distant yet dreamlike feeling. On top of this is the DJ delivery, a partly free-style-like performance, partly centered around a particular idea and hook. On the whole though, this seems like an opportunity taken – to showcase that personality and that laid-back aura. The rhythm of the opening vocal, the pace and the hypnotic style of the delivery – the ongoing rhyme scheme included – all of this weaves its way throughout and around the soundscape. The free-flowing energy feels pretty genuine, it’s an easy going song that deals with the topic of commitment or a lack of interest in it – the overtone of the music suits this idea and lifestyle well.
Lose My Mind is a gorgeous track, beautifully produced so as to bring in elements of a slightly world-like bounce alongside those that are a little more electronically soaked. It feels like a beach-side piece of music, a song to be shared – one that represents togetherness in every way. The soundscape itself is multi-layered, colorful and optimistic in its energy, and on top of this you get Dj Redness’s leading soundscape, a smooth and fitting melody line, designed to further that sense of carefree possibility and hope.
The opening moments of music showcase only a few simple chords, a spacious ambiance – keys and the leading voice drive the journey. The mix works gorgeously, the delicacy invites you into the moment – it sounds genuine, as if it’s from a place of honesty and authentic peacefulness.
As the music evolves and fills out, the beat and every new element that steps up to the stage adds further to this overwhelming warmth, this energizing aura that the song so brightly presents. It’s a simple track, and effective in being so – accessible to all, fit for the moments of calm just as well as those of a higher energy level. The drop to the hook works brilliantly and there’s a clear potential for remixes that hit a little harder; should anyone feel so inclined to go there. Well crafted and a pleasure to add to the playlist.
